What We Can Do for the “Society.”
Once we set up shop on the land, we will work for the community.
We will strive to create a community where people can spend
their time comfortably and with peace of mind
by being close to the “city” and its “people,”
and to promote local attractions in an effort to revitalize the community.

Establishing a Coffee Bean Roastery at Our Tokyo Head Office Where People with Disabilities Can Work with Peace of Mind
C-United is promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to enable people from various backgrounds to experience the joy and pleasure of working in the restaurant industry. In March 2024, we established a roastery where people with disabilities (CU Crew*) perform such duties as roasting and packaging coffee on the first floor of our Head Office. By partially moving our coffee roasting operations in-house, we are creating new employment opportunities. In addition, the roastery has qualified job coaches on-site to create a working environment that fosters peace of mind for our workers. And from 2024, the coffee beans roasted at this roastery will be sold as “COFFEE-KAN Ginza Blend” at two COFFEE-KAN store locations (COFFEE-KAN Ginza INZ Store, COFFEE-KAN Ginza Chuo-dori 2-chome Store). For this special coffee, each member of the CU Crew leverages their own individualities to perform everything from blending green coffee beans to roasting, packaging, and shipping. We will continue to fulfill our corporate social responsibility under our management philosophy of “making people happy through the creation and development of coffee culture.”
*The people with disabilities who work at C-United are referred to as the CU Crew to instill the message that we are all colleagues working together.

We hold work experience programs and workshops so that students can appreciate the joy and satisfaction of working in the food service industry.
Since June 2022, C-United has been welcoming students from schools near our shops and holding work experience programs as well as workshops for children and their parents to enjoy collaboratively with the local communities. For the work experience programs, students try to perform such work duties as serving customers and making products over a few days at actual shops; and for the workshops, children and their parents work together on activities that include latte art and chalkboard inscription under the theme: “What is it like to work at a café?” We will continue to cherish the warm connections between these towns and their people and make every effort to help individuals to feel the joy and satisfaction of working in the food service industry and imagine their future dreams and goals through these activities.

We offer a small gift for children in the hospital during the Christmas season.
During the Christmas season at some of our CAFÉ de CRIÉ locations within hospitals, shop staff members dress up as Santa Clause, reindeer, and in other costumes and visit children in the hospitals, where they interact with the children and present them with small gifts. In the course of our communication with these children, we receive delightful messages from them, which in turn energizes us for the daily operation of our shops. We will continue to value the bonds between people and foster these warm interactions.

We have installed a fundraising vending machine in our Head Office as a means for readily taking part in social contribution activities.
C-United has installed a fundraising vending machine in our Head Office as a means to allow each and every employee to readily take part in social contribution activities in their daily lives. When a beverage is purchased from this vending machine, a portion of the proceeds is donated to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), which is a UN organization whose mission is to eliminate hunger and poverty. We will continue to build an environment where our employees can naturally contribute to society in their daily lives in a sustainable way.

THE SMOKIST COFFEE Is a Brand That Aims to Create a Smoking and Non-smoking Society That Is Comfortable for Both Smokers and Non-smokers.
In November 2020, we launched THE SMOKIST COFFEE, a place where people can enjoy cigarettes and coffee, with the goal of creating a comfortable smoking and non-smoking society and helping to create a city where people can coexist comfortably. We cherish the culture of "drinking coffee with a cigarette in one hand," which has been common in the past, and offer our customers a relaxing time. On the other hand, street smoking has become a problem, as seen in the Revised Health Promotion Act, which came into full effect in April 2020. In light of these circumstances, we are working to reduce the opportunities for non-smokers to “secondhand smoke" by creating smoking areas in our daily lives.

We Will Engage in Community Cleanup Activities, Valuing Warm Interaction With Everyone in the Neighboring Community.
C-United aims to make shops that are assets to the towns, and together with providing pleasant in-shop experiences, we hope to contribute to developing communities where everyone in the neighborhoods can feel comfortable. During daily cleanup activities at our shops, we not only clean in front of our shops but also at the establishments on both sides out of appreciation for them. And in addition to this, we also participate in town cleanup programs in each local area. Through these local cleanup activities, we value the warm face-to-face interactions with everyone in the neighborhoods as we continue our efforts to make these towns more beautiful.
